Review of ATT Uverse TV

Published on May 16, 2009

We have tested out Uverse for about a month. Even though ATT boasts about the quantity of HD channels it provides, I am like the greater number of tv enjoyers who not only do not have a high definition TV, but also still use old fashioned analog formats.

We only hooked the U-verse to the tv in our family room. But the companies packages will let you set up to 3 plus more if you are prepared to pay more. The DVR hooks up to one TV, and the others can retrieve taped shows off it.

I got the U400 packaged choice, which gets you approx 270 non-HD channels and begins at $99 a month. ATT has packed deals that mix U-verse and internet, but do not start panting at the idea of unbelievably fst Web surfing. The web access that comes with ATT Uverse is largely the same as ATT’s regular package, though uploads are better.

The part that most amazed me was the clarity of the picture. To be honest, I have never seen a signal that clear on any regular tv. I also like the way that the DVR can tape up to 4 channels simultaneously.

ATT installations take a number of hours, depending on 2 to 4 your house’s wiring should be fixed to accommodate U-verse. In our case, technicians had to switch the wiring beneath some of the phone jacks. Because I have been using analog wire, I’d not yet attempted a Video on Demand program, which U-verse includes. This gives you the option to choose from films and shows from a selection of your stations, including Showtime, and play them on your Television like a DVD player.
